We provide the lounge and included amenities. You choose the styling, food, drinks and suppliers that suit your day.
Friday to Sunday
A wedding package with room to breathe.
Set up without the last-minute rush, celebrate on Saturday, then return Sunday morning to collect personal items and finish pack-down.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding.
All functions must conclude by 12:30am, regardless of hire period.
Returned within five working days after the post-event inspection.
Available subject to other bookings and venue availability.

The venue gives you a strong base. Styling, catering and event staffing remain in your hands.

- Up to 22 trestle tables seating 6-8 guests each
- Up to 120 white designer chairs
- Four bar leaners and stools for indoor or outdoor use
- Lectern, Bluetooth sound system and one wireless microphone
- 85-inch LCD screen or projector
- Moveable bar and glass-front drinks chiller
- Five-metre balcony overlooking Midway Beach
- Plates and cutlery for up to 110 guests
- Rubbish and recycling removal and general clean-up, excluding dishes

- Furniture set-up, decorating and styling
- Catering and any event service staff
- Wine and beer glassware
- Alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages
- Dishwashing and table service
- Return of externally hired equipment
Midway does not supply event staff. Most caterers can arrange food,
bar and clean-up staff as part of their service.

A few responsibilities to allow for.
The self-service format gives you flexibility, but it also means your team and suppliers are responsible for creating and managing the event.
Set up the space
Arrange the furniture, tables, decorations and styling within your hire period.
Coordinate suppliers
Arrange catering, beverages, service staff, decorations and any additional hire items.
Leave it tidy
Remove leftover food, beverages and decorations by 10:00am Sunday. Furniture may remain in the lounge.
Look after your guests
Ensure safe, respectful behaviour throughout the event and arrange transport or security where required.
BYO alcohol
Private functions may supply alcohol free of charge.
The lounge is not licensed for alcohol sales. Drinks must remain within the lounge and balcony, and guest alcohol must be delivered in advance by arrangement with management.
- Food, non-alcoholic options and safe transport should be provided.
- Alcohol cannot be taken between the lounge and Tahu.
- Ticketed events or alcohol sales require a Special Licence from GDC.
- Security may be required at the hirer's cost.
Gisborne Liquorland on Customhouse Street is familiar with the venue and can assist with pre-orders and delivery.

Where are weddings held?
You choose where you wish to hold your ceremony. It can be held within the lounge or on the balcony. If the lounge is used, allow time for your team to reconfigure the set-up after the ceremony.
Is the Hub exclusively ours for the weekend?
The lounge is your hired private function space, while the wider building is shared with Tahu and Midway Surf Life Saving Club users. During the summer season, lifeguards and Surf Life Saving Club members also share the balcony space directly adjacent to the lounge.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes. You can choose your own caterer, self-cater, or work with one of the venue's recommended local suppliers.
What must be removed by Sunday morning?
Your event must end at 12.30am. You will need to return to collect all leftover beverages, food and decorations on Sunday between 7am and 10am.
Is all information guaranteed until we book?
Your booking will be secure when the 20% deposit has been paid.
