The Mana Moana Lounge gives you the practical things a function needs, including furniture, a caterer’s kitchen, integrated audio-visual equipment and a moveable bar, without locking you into a set package.

Bring your own food and drinks, book the caterer or suppliers you prefer, and style the space around the kind of event you want to host.

A moveable bar and glass-front drinks chiller, ready to work into your layout.

Ocean-facing balcony

A 5m-deep balcony overlooking Midway Beach, directly off the lounge.

Plan your event

A few things to know before you book.

Access, set-up and finish time

Flexible start times are available, subject to other bookings. Include all furniture set-up and supplier access time in your booking request.

All events must finish by 12:30am.

Before You Leave

Furniture may stay in the lounge at the end of your event. The Hub’s cleaner will vacuum and return the furniture to storage the following morning.

  • Remove leftover food, drinks and decorations.
  • Remove all rubbish and recycling, unless you have booked the removal add-on.
  • Arrange dishwashing with your caterer.
  • Take all personal belongings and hired equipment.

BYO alcohol

The lounge is unlicensed. You may supply your own alcohol free of charge to guests at a private function.

  • Alcohol must remain inside the lounge and balcony.
  • Guests cannot bring alcohol in during the event; arrange delivery with management in advance.
  • Provide food, non-alcoholic options and safe transport options.
  • If alcohol is sold or included with tickets, you must obtain a Special Licence from Gisborne District Council.

Is the venue suitable for my event?

The Mana Moana Lounge is available for private functions, dinners and celebrations. It is not suitable for children’s birthday parties, 18th birthdays or 21st birthdays.
